A Monticello Glass Pedestal Serving Bowl is a versatile piece that can be used many different ways. The one pictured below is similar. I often use it for serving food but it also works well to hold a simple floral arrangement.
This one is nothing but cut magnolia leaves (from the yard) and a few poinsettia blossoms leftover from Christmas. Even though the blossoms are just about spent, the arrangement still looks pretty. If you have a lot of magnolia to work with, the bowl should hold the branches without any problems. You can use a Kenzan Flower Holder Frog or something similar to secure the foliage if your arrangement seems to need it.
