A cozy corner

When I had to downsize from a larger home to our townhome, I had to make choices. I decided to go less formal using the pine pieces that were in my former den. This glass front pine secretary was one of my favorite pieces and it fits perfectly into the space next to my fireplace.

I kept the doors open at my last home. It works as well in a smaller space with the doors closed. The glass doors let people have a glimpse of the treasures inside.

The pottery on the floor is a large French urn from the Provence region. My daughter Bliss brought it back from a trip to France. If you would like the same look, Pier 1 often has great pieces.

Hi Peggy, what a beautiful home. I’m admiring so many of your things! Where, oh, where did you find your glass hurricanes on your fireplace? Love them!
